Availability of Office xp pro

Don

Purchased a new Notebooke from Gateway. 10/1 Been waiting
3 weeks for Office XP Pro..back order???? Is there a
shortage of this software???

Not so much a shortage as usually poorly stocked by retailers and ordered on
request, especially the full package. Upgrades fare better, but while three
weeks is not unusual, it is at the top end of delivery times. I would give
it a chase.

If and when you get your Office XP don't forget that you can get a free
upgrade to Office 2003 which came out this week, may even be worth
cancelling your XP order and going straight for the New Office System which
having used it for a couple of days is well worth looking at.

Hi Steve,

If the software was purchased with a PC then it
could be an OEM edition of Office. The OEM products
are not covered by the MS Technology Guarantee, although
a number of the PC suppliers may have their own similar
program.
