Hi:
I am having a problem since many days with MS PS 2003.
There is a resource(PM) with project server authentucation, when he clicked
on "Resources" to assign a project he is unable to view all resources names
except his name.
I checked with all other PM privileges even though am unable to solve.
Please help me in this regards asap.
Thanks in advance
Prasanna

Hi
Make sure that those resources are a part of Project Managers group and and
have permissions set with PM template.
Specifically 'view resource centre' permission should be enabled

Hi,
I think that it may be connected with your RBS structure and rights
referring to RBS.
Firstly (preferably as the administrator) go to Resource Center, group the
view by RBS (then by None) and find the PM in the organisation structure.
Note if the PM has anybody "below".
If the PM doesn't appear there or is on the lowest level in the branch then
you have the answer.
You may have to look into how resources settings in My Resources category.
What settings are checked there.

But if the RBS and the category settings are correct - sorry, my knowledge
is not sufficient.

I did as you told but even am unable to see. Instead am able to see View
enterprise resources in Resource Center, which I donot want.
In "Available Resource" am able to see only my name.
I want to see other resources assignements by selecting their names and
clicking "add" and then "apply".

Hi:
As you said PM is not there.
So now I would like to do it from scrath.
I will do it by creating a new resource.
so can you please tell me the exact process what all I should do, so that my
I can see resources list.
Thanks in advance.

It’s a challenging task for me but lets’ try.

Firstly I can tell you experts recommendation.
Go to
http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx
and find How to: Convert a user account to an enterprise resource. Hope this
help.

But I personally did it in a different way (I didn’t know the above “How toâ€
then).
My steps are as follows:
- In Project Pro open Tools > Enterprise Options > Open Enterprise Resource
Pool. Don’t check any name.
- You receive empty Checked-out Enterprise Resources sheet.
- Enter the person and save the resource global.
Remember to fill RBS field. This person can be still authorized in Project
server but will have a position in the RBS.
- Check how you see it in PWA.

Personally even I follow the same method as u do.
But still Elas am unable to slove my problem.
suggest me wat to do?

So now I take it that:
- this PM is in RBS,
- there are some people in the RBS below the PM (not on the same level)
- In PWA in Resource Center you can see the correct RBS with employees names.

Now look at your "My projects" and "My resources" categories to see if the
RBS options there make sense in your organisation.

However when I read your question I'm not absolutely sure what you mean. Be
more precise. Tell exactly what tab / table / option the PM chooses and what
for.
