Average Function

I just re-installed ms 2000. I thought I use to have a button where I could
just click and get an average, now I don't know where it is or how to get it
back.

Does anyone have a clue what I am talking about?

On your status bar (bottom toolbar)>right click>change to average.
Now when you select (highlight) a range of cells you will get an average.
