AVi clips displaying on Power Point

I have been facing problems to display avi files when running Power Point
Office 2000.
I had recovery my HD, reinstalled all service packs of Windows and
reinstalled the Office 2000.
Those files run well on Windows Media Player 10, however, when they are
requested to be displayed on the Power Point slides, they cannot start, and
only is displayed a black frame.
Can someone help me to overcome this problem ?

Also, are the movies from a digital camera? If so, can you tell us the brand
and model?

If the above doesn't help, what version of Windows are you running?

if its a black frame its a sign that you need to update your video card
driver or temporaliy lower the hardware accelartion on your video card
driver...

start -> run -> mplay32
does it play there...
