avi/mpeg files on autorun cd

I wan't to implement som videofiles on a autorun cd. what
files are read by all windows systems? Do i have to save a
player on the cd or what happens if the person using the
cd don't have a player that supports this file? Can i
paste a player in one slide that works on every pc? I have
read the powerpoint and multimedia tips but i didn't get
it, maybe my english isn't that good.
