AVI will not Play in PPT. It played 2 days ago!

I have some AVI files that Windows Media player has no problem playing, but
when inserted into PPT they will not play. They did play within PPT at one
point, but after some desktop cleanup now fail. IThe links are intact. The
message PowerPoint gives is that it can not find the driver.

Environement: Windows XP professional Service pack 2

This happened once before and a firend had some luck inserting the AVI file
as an object instead of using the insert Movie command. Any help short of
using a video tool to convert the AVI files.

Are you sure the links are OK

Assuming they are and they're fairly short you might try reinstalling
Windows Media Player which should sort out the mci settings.

You can convert avi to wmv easily using free microsoft tools.
