i have onenote 2007 , i saved my data as a back-up my computer crashed and i
reloaded onenote 2007 onto a new machine(all running vista ) now i need to
look for my data from the old harddrive with no os system just files

The notebooks would be stored in "<drive>:\documents and
settings\<username>\my documents\onenote notebooks". Replace <drive>
with whatever letter your old drive is connected to, and <username> with
your old username. You can also find the backups in "<drive>:\documents
and settings\<username>\local settings\microsoft\onenote\12.0\backup".
