backend server security

S

Souris

I have a backend database save on the server which my users do not have
access and front end is on users' desktop.

My user gets message that user does not have rights to access the database.

It seems that MS Access follows the server security rules even user has
access front end.

Please let me know if I am wrong.
Are there any workaround for this issue?

Your information is great appreciated,

The users need permissions on the back end database, too. Have the network
administrator give the users permissions on the directory where the back end
is located. Without read permissions, the users can't read the database file.
Without write permissions, the users can't make any changes in the back end
database. Without delete permissions, the users can't delete the .LDB file
when closing the database, which may prevent others from opening the database
later.
