Background color on new template

I created a new template with logos in the header and address in the footer,
then I wanted to add color to the background. I added a yellow gradiant to
it, it looks great on screen, but when it prints the background color doesn't
print.
I looked at it in print preview and it appears as though the color is behind
the document. How do I get the color to the forground in the template, so I
can type on it and have both the color and text appear?

Hi D.J.,

The Word 2007 background color doesn't print as a default. To change it at print time use the 'Options' button in Office
Button=>Print=>Print

To change it to always be on use
Office Button=>Word Options=>Display=>Printing Options

Thank you Bob, I would have responded sooner, but I was having trouble with
the Reply windows. Anyhow, That worked, what I see on the screen it great,
but when it prints out it I get 11 stripes of colors across the page rather
than the nicely variant that I created and see on the screen. Any suggestions?

Hi D.J.,

What steps did you use to create the gradient background, what version of Word, Windows and printer model are you using?
