i am using publisher 2007, to produce a brochure and am trying to use a
coloured background, but it leaves a white border around the edge that isnt
printed. is there anyway i can overcome this

It's possible that your printer does not print
full bleed (to the edge). The following

Your printer needs to be capable of full bleed. Check the documentation that
came with your printer. Sometimes you need to use specific settings to
achieve full bleed and that too will be in the documentation.
