Background colours

I have created a report with background colours. The print preview shows the
background colours, but they don't print out. Coloured text is OK. I am using
a new printer (Canon MP530). My previous printer (HP laserjet) had no
problems. I can successful print background colours in other applications.

By "background", I assume you mean text control backgrounds...
The first thing to do is to find the latest printer driver for your
printer. Canon should have a web site that provides those drivers. Also,
support information for problems such as yours. That's the best first
place to try...

Even newly purchased printers may not have the latest drivers included.
