Background fill color problem

When I change the background color of a field then save to project server
then open it again the backgound color does not appear. If I save the
schedule to my local drive then open it the background color is there.

Is there a setting in server that coltrols this?

Sort of. Sounds like you're modifying an enterprise view, which generally
can't be done, except by the Admin.

To make a local view, go to the Views, More Views, select the one you want,
and make a copy of it, and change the name.

Then you can modify and save that view....

The important thing to remember here, is that colors are an attribute of a
view, and not the data. Once you orient yourself around that, the behavior
starts to make sense.
