Whenever I am in "Print Layout" view my documents have
grid lines in the background. They do not show up while
in "Normal" or "Web" layout. They do not print with the
document but they are bothersome. How do I get rid of
the ackground grid lines in "Print layout" view????

Don,

Display the Drawing Toolbar (View>Toolbars>Drawing). Click the Draw command
button, click Grid and uncheck "Display gridlines on screen."
