background picture for logon screen

just purchased office professional 2003. I am trying to convert an Access 97
application to Access 2003.

When the Access 97 application starts, the logon screen (username, password)
comes up on a background picture. I don't remember how I got this to happen.

When the Access 2003 application starts, the background picture comes up for
a second and then disappears. The logon screen then comes up on a white
background.

Can anyone tell me how to get the Access 2003 application to work properly?
Any hints would be helpful. For example I really don't remember the mechanism
that is putting up this picture, so I don't know where to go to try to
correct my problem.

Thanks in advance,

JoeF

There is a bitmap file in the same folder as your mdb. It has the same name
as your mdb, but a bmp extension. Access will use this as the opening
splash screen rather than the standard 'Access' splashscreen.
When the Access 2003 application starts, the background picture comes
up for a second and then disappears. The logon screen then comes up
on a white background.

You won't be able to change this behaviour. Starting in 2000 the order
changed. Access starts - splashscreen - Access application window opens -
login prompt - database opens. In 97 and prior the login prompt would show
before the Access application window.

So you are seeing your picture briefly when Access starts. If you want a
picture, you'll have to move it inside your application - but all that will
happen after the login prompt.
