Background sound file and option to turn off

Hi. I have wav files on four of the pages of my website. I would like the
visitor to be able to turn the sound off. How can I do this? Also, the
sound file seems to slow down the page loading (everything else loads
quickly for most people). Is there a way to compress the sound file or is
there a better file type to use for background sound? Thanks!!

There is no built in support for this in Publisher, but I have heard it that
it can be controlled with JavaScript. You might Google for some free script
that you could insert via the insert HTML code fragment feature. And yes,
those files are pretty heavy and will slow the loading of your pages.

In my opinion, you might be better served to provide a link to the musak, so
the person who wants to hear can opt to download it, but you don't force
feed it to those who don't. I gotta admit, I am very biased...I will
immediately leave a page that has musak.
