-> Backing up all messages without keeping links to Exchange?

Steve JORDI

Hi,
is there a simple way to backup all messages (in all folders/sub
folders) locally so I can use them on a computer without any internet
links to Exchange?

I fear that just saving messages and opening them on another computer
might ask me to establish the link to the Exchange server.
That's what I want to break: remove all references to Exchange and
keep those messages as a personal file (PST) only?

Is there a way?

Thanks for any help in archiving those messages.

Sincerely,
Steve JORDI

Create a new PST with File>New>Outlook Data File. After creating the file,
copy each of the folders in the Exchange mailbox to the PST. Alternately,
there's a tool on the Exchange server that can create a PST from the mailbox
contents.

There will still be references to the Exchange account that received the
messages, but you should be able to use the PST on another PC.

Hi Brian,
thanks for your prompr reply.
Create a new PST with File>New>Outlook Data File. After creating the file,
copy each of the folders in the Exchange mailbox to the PST.

Just using the mouse with the ctrl key and dragging those folders to
the new opened PST?

messages, but you should be able to use the PST on another PC.

Ok but I would be able to fully access the message contents without
any connection to the server. Is this right?

Thanks again.
