Backing up files

I've newly moved from WP DOS to doing everything in Word
2002 (Windows 98), and I'm stuck...I have over 1,000 Word
documents that I need to copy onto a CD for backup. Docs
are from 7/5/03 to today. They are located in probably 40
different folders, all of which contain older documents
that have already been backed up.

In order to back up just the ones dated from 7/5/03
forward, I have to pull those docs together into one
folder, because my CD-ROM software (Nero something) isn't
really an archive program, and won't allow me to search
for "by date." I was able to use Microsoft Explorer to
search for all the appropriate documents, but once I have
the list, I can't find any way to move those files into
another folder.

Is there any way to move all files with a certain date
range without doing it manually, folder by folder, file by
file? Or...anybody have a recommendation of a better CD-
ROM software backup program that will allow me to back up
by date?

Do a search in Windows Explorer using the "when was it modified or last
modified and setting the dates you desire" beginning at the subfolder which
is the Head/top of your desired docs, perform the search, highlight the
desired files and copy them to what ever folder new/old that you desire.
You may even specify ".doc for file type" in your search to eliminate
needless files.
