Backing up *.MDB files to a Groove Data Bridge

We are attempting to backup Microsoft Access Database files in a File Sharing
Workspace to a Groove Data Bridge Server.

We understand the issues with MDB files, and make sure they are moved to the
backup folder rather than risk being opened by database applications.

Our problem is, that MDB files are not backed up to an unmanaged identity on
Groove Data Bridge, probably because they are in the default restricted
filetypes list, but there does not seem to be any way to over-ride this on a
Groove Data Bridge identity. Can you let me know if there is some equivelant
to the client preferences - security options on a groove data bridge, that
can be edited?

We have successfully tested backing up MDB files if we introduce a managed
identity to the Groove Data Bridge, and over-ride the file type restrictions
by policy, however this seems a lot of trouble to go to, to get around the
problem.

Could you advise please ?

As far as I know, a managed identity with policies is the only way to
customize the restricted file types in a Data Bridge identity. As a caveat, I
am not an expert in the Data Bridge product, so there may be some clever way
around this that I am not aware of. I've sent a query to one of the product
experts and will let you know what he says.
