Backing up projects as mpps

Can anyone tell me if, for project server 07 there would be a way to
automate a process that would back up projects in the SQL database as
mpp files? The org I work in doesn't consider project server as a
critical system (which makes sense) and they don't want to pay the
organization hosting the system for expensive DR coverage (these are
both government orgs). At the same time, they don't want to accept
the risk that the hosting org won't assure them anything faster than
30 days to restore the system should there be a "major
disaster" (without paying for additional services). They'd feel
better if they knew they could at least have access to their schedules
even without the server being back up and running, but other than
manually opening each schedule and saving it as an mpp file
periodically, not sure how they would do that.

Thanks,
J. N.

If you have access to the reporting db (read only is fine) then a little VBA
code in Project Pro will save all projects locally as .mpp files. An admin
with Project Pro on their desktop could run this weekly (most schedules are
only updated weekly).
