BackSpace and Delete Keys not working

Please Help!!!

My delete and backspace keys do not work in MS Word however when I have to
delete something I have to use Shift+Delete or Shift+BackSpace

I'm using MS Word XP SP3

While that was a good tip, it sure did not help me. The wordperfect keys will
still allow you to use the backspace key and delete is made dysfunctional
only when we select a block of text.

However my problem is I'm not able to delete even a single
alphabet/character using either delete or backspace. I don't what has
happened. But this is getting very weird for me now. I've those wordperfect
boxes unchecked inspite of this I'm unable to use my Delete and BackSpace
keys.

Try
Tools > Options > Edit
Check "typing replaces selection"

Sorry, I thought that article also included the "Typing replaces selection"
fix. It should.
