Hello,
The Project Managers where I work are moving from Project Standard to
Project Pro/Server. When editing a .MPP they were in the habit of saving a
backup copy of the project as a .MPP file, whenever they are about to do a
significant change. If the changes are for some reason unsatisfactory, they
can then delete the current version and rename the backup to the original.
Now they are using Project Server, there does not seem to be a way to do
this. The version facility on Project Server does not allow a backup version
to be saved over the .Published version. A backup saved as a .MPP also
cannot replace the .Published project, except by deleting the .Published
project, re-importing the .MPP, and connecting back to the Project Workspace.
Does anyone know a better way of creating and restoring a temporary backup?
TIA
