Backup and restore of project server

M

We recently performed a backup and restore of our current project
server environment (so that we can migrate everything to a new server).
While testing out the new migrated environment, I noticed:

1. The OLAP views in PWA are "sticky" - the pages appear to be stuck
for some time before refreshing. When I tried to rebuild the OLAP
cubes, the following error message appears:

The cube scheduled to be built on 8/1/2006 at 5:58 PM failed.
(3002) There was a problem accessing the OLAP cube repository. Read the
Installation Guide for details.

2. Sharepoint - none of the sites are working and new sites are not
automatically being created, even though are settings specify to do so.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Hi,
I'm afraid that you did not restore the environment properly. You have to
know that there is more to just restoring the SQL databses (Projectser &
STS_servername_1)

Please note that when you restore EPM databses to a new EPM environment, The
server name is different, which leads to changing the server name in the:
1. Server Configuration page (under "Enter the intranet and / or extranet
addresses of Project Server")
2. Analysis Server name from Manage enterprise features, then building the
cube)
3. If you have portfolio analyser views you have to modify each view and
change the server name.

As for Sharepoint, you have to delete the STS_servername_1 content databse
first and then Add it (from Sharepoint Central Administration, configure
virtual setting, default web site, manage content databse)
Then you have to go manage Windows Sharepoint Services (fron PWA as an
admin) and change the URLs
Then while in Manage Windows Sharepoint Services from Manage Sharepoint
sites, you have to synchronize each site

Build the Olap Cube and you should be up & running

Let me know if you still face problems
