Backup and Restore

I'm backing up my entire system [files, folders and the like] and want to
insure I do not loose any of my Outlook 2007 data.

Daily, I run the Outlook Personal Folders Backup program and weely, Auto
Archive.
Before I begin, I will also export each folder to a pst file. The output
from these three steps are placed onto a seperate hard drive.

My question is with the files and folders stored in my Archive Folders. Do
I need to export these to a seperate pst or, if after I reinstall Outlook,
will I be able to select the archive.pst or must I do anything special?

Why are you doing that? What a waste of time! Just make a copy of your pst
file. That's all you need to do.

There is out-dated information on some of these pages, specifically with
regard to Outlook 2003 and 2007.

The main points to note:
1. Do NOT use the import/export function to move Outlook data from one
version to another - all you need to do is to copy the pst file, with
Outlook closed.

2. Do NOT paste the copied pst file into the default location - paste into
(for example) your Documents folder and then do File-Open-Outlook Data File
within Outlook.

Well backup & archive are two different things
And as Gorden says 'dont export' its unneccesary apart from which it loses
data. Niether do you import to reconnect old data

Don't do this. It's highly inefficient. Moreover, export loses data.
Exporting is not backing up. Just copy the PST(s) to the separate drive while
Outloo kis closed.

You should be able to configure Outllook to use that PST again as archive.
