backup copies

Unlike in previous versions of Word, I find that in v. 2007, whenever I need
a backup copy of a file, i simply cannot find it. Not in the original folder,
and not in the location specified in Word Options.
Yes, I have "Save Autorecover" information selected. But that only seems to
be useful when I have lost information because of a crash--NOT when I want to
go back to the next-to-last saved version of a document.
Thanks,

It should be in the same folder as the file itself, and it will be named
"Backup of <filename>.wbk." You won't see these files in Word's File Open
window unless you have All Files selected, but you should see them in
Windows Explorer (My Computer). They tend to sort toward the top of a folder
(unless you have a lot of filenames beginning with A or numbers).

Are you sure you have the backup option enabled? It's at Office Button |
Word Options | Advanced | Save.

the second setting in <Office button | Word Options | Advance | Save>
seems to be working OK here (each time you save, say, Doc1.docx, Word
creates or updates a file with *.wbk in the same folder).
