Backup copy in My Webs

Hi there!
I, again, have another problem with my website, which turned out to be an
important one.
I had problems publishing my website with FrontPage before. I guess, it is
probably pretty simply for someone who is familiar with FrontPage.
Unfortunately, I am not.
After figuring out that I made all the changes “liveâ€, I realized that
because of this I did not have a backup copy on my PC. If I open FrontPage
now and then My Webs in My Documents to open a page, there is no current copy
of the website in there. There is a folder “2005†but this is the old
website. So, I figured out that I have to download the site again and I got
the following instructions:
Open Windows Explorer and go to 'My Network Places'
Right-Click
'Map Network Drive'
'Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server'
Follow the 'Add Network Place' Wizard
Enter the http://www.mysitename.com address
Then the user name and password
Also, I created a new folder in My Webs on C Drive and copied the network
location to this new directory.
The problem is now that if I open FrontPage and open My Webs there is a
folder with all the pages etc. of the current site but this is again the
“live†website, I believe. The folder 2005 (normal file folder) and 2006
(folder with globe on it), which I created, look different, too. Because I
just copied the network location, right?
So, my question is, how do I get the pages in this folder without being
“liveâ€, so that I can make a backup copy for our references as well as I can
publish the web to the World Wide Web and even just make changes and updates
before publishing it.
I hope, you understand what I mean and it is not too confusing. I have not
worked with FrontPage before, so I have no idea what else I can do. I thought
that would be it to get a copy on my PC where I would make all the changes in
the future and then publish it.
Any suggestions are very much appreciated! Thank you a lot!

I think you did it the hard way.

Open your live web in FrontPage. Click File > Publish web.
When prompted, select Disk based, and the select the correct folder in
My webs.
Click OK.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I did as you told me. I chose the folder in My
Webs for the location I want to publish to but after I did this and checked
on the website (Internet Explorer) with every click on each page the message
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file
from showing active content that could access your computer..." shows up and,
which is way worse, one page where you have to enter a password to get other
forms does not work at all anymore. You can enter the password but when you
press on the enter button, nothing comes up. Usually it leads to another page
with documents to download.
This happened before when I tried to publish to my folders as somebody told
me before.
I just cancelled it. Any other ideas? Maybe I do something wrong??
Thanks!

There is nothing wrong, this is security added by Windows XP SP2 to protect you opening web pages on
your local HD that contain any type of scripting. Items that require the FP extensions or a web
server to process can not be tested in a disk-based web, only a web server via http.

Ok, I don't really understand. Why does this appear on every single page and
just if I publish it that way? Shouldn't the password page work as it did
before?
When I open a page in FrontPage and go to My Webs it always goes straight to
http:\\www.mysitename.com whereas it does not do this when I click on the
older folder for 2005?
