backup e-mail messages

I would like to reinstall Windows (I'm using Windows98), but before I do
that, I want to backup all my e-mail messages. I cannot determine which file
or directory the e-mail messages are contained in. All I want to be able to
do is copy the appropriate file so that I can copy it back again once I've
reinstalled Windows.
Does anybody know which file (or is it files) that Windows98 and Outlook
Express use to store the e-mails?

Change your folder views to "show all files" and then do a search for *.dbx
files. Or better still in Outlook Express, go to TOOLS / Options /
Maintenance / Store Folder (bottom right), select that, it will tell you
where there are stored, presently...

Lastly, this is a forum for Microsoft Outlook, no Outlook Express, you'd
need to go here:

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
