I have Outlook 2000. I need to re-install Windows. If I re-install Windows, I
will lose everything, except for what I backup.

How can I backup the contents the Outlook messages (including attachments)of
my existing e-mails in my Inbox, Sent Folder, Drafts, Outbox, and Trash
Folder, so when I am done re-installing Windows, I re-install Office, and
instead of losing all messages, I can place the backed up messages in the
proper location and the next time I open Outlook, it will look as if there
are no lost messages.

Right-click on each folder file and select Properties for (folder name).
Advanced will show you the path and name of the PST file for each
folder. Backup these PST files; they contain all your messages,
attachments, and contacts.

No. there IS no pst file for "each" folder - you are getting confused with
Outlook EXPRESS. Outlook has ONE pst file that contains ALL the data.

Search for, and copy (with Outlook closed) your *.pst file. if you have used
Archiving then there may well be more than one. Also if you are using
Windows 2K or Windows XP you will have to enable hidden files in your
search.
