To back up the Enterprise Resource Pool, you will need to do the following:
1. Open a blank project
2. Click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise
3. Add every resource to the project team and click OK
4. Save the project as an .mpp file
Once you have done this, you will now need to create one custom local
Resource field in the .mpp file for every custom enterprise Resource field
in the Enterprise Global, and create one custom local Resource outline code
in the .mpp file for every custom enterprise Resource outline code in the
Enterprise Global. You will then need to copy the values for every custom
enterprise Resource field and outline code into the local fields and outline
codes you just created in the .mpp file. You must do this so that you can
properly reimport the resources from the .mpp file into the Enterprise
Resource Pool should you ever need to do so. I know that this process is
very labor intensive, but this is the one sure way to back up only the
Enterprise Resource Pool.
The other obvious option is to continually back up your SQL Server database
on a regular cycle. Hope this helps.
