I used to back up Outlook by burning the outlook.pst file
to a CD. Then, I could transfer the file to my laptop and
keep it as a backup, too. Now, I can't burn a CD with the
pst file without getting an error message every time I
try to move the file off of the CD. The error message
refers to a "cyclic redundancy error" and I can't find a
way around it. I have already done the following:
a. Run Chkdsk to see if the file was located on a bad
block or bad sector;
b. Run the scanpst.exe utility until it reports no
errors;
c. Zipped the outlook.pst file before trying to burn it
to CD;
d. Copied the outlook.pst file to another folder on the
same drive - and copied the outlook.pst file to my second
hard-drive before attempting to burn it to CD.
The file is only about 630MB. This problem is driving me
NUTS! Has anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone
have a suggestion to solve this problem?
Thanks!
