Just started using Word 2007 & need to know how to backup and restore
autocorrect. I'm used to Word 2003. Also, I'm very disappointed that Word
2007 no longer has the auto complete for autotext entries. Thanks for your
help.

Backing up AutoCorrect in 2007 is almost exactly the same as in 2003:

- Formatted entries are stored in Normal.dotm (the equivalent of
Normal.dot), which is in your Templates folder, by default at
%appdata%\Microsoft\Templates.

- Plain-text entries are stored in %appdata%\Microsoft\Office, in a
file named MSOnnnn.acl, where nnnn is a language identifier (1033 for
US English, 2057 for UK English, etc.).

We're disappointed about autocomplete, too. The developers have been
made quite aware of the general displeasure ever since it disappeared
during the beta.

Hi Jay,
Still havin problems learning how to backup and restore Autocorrect files.
In 2003, I found the support.dot, which allowed me to enable macros & the
option of backing up the entries in a docuent file. I haven't found where my
entries are located on Office 7, although when I updated, it transferred most
of them to be used by Word. Sorry for being so dense! Country Lady
