Hi NG,
I search for a guide which tells you the steps to perform to recover a whole
Project Server 2007 in catastrophe case.
I already found a how-to about backing up and restoring the Project Server
database by STSADM. As I also found an article about backing up the database
by MS SQL Server Enterprise Manager, my first question is, if the way by
STSADM is sufficient or if you also need the backup by SQL Enterprise Manager
to fully recover a Project Server 2007 with all components.
Further, I'm looking for information which components you have to backup and
how to restore them in case of fully server damage.
I planned to run Project Server in a VMware Virtual Machine and to keep a
copy of the VM at a secure place. Suffering a server loss I could start the
VM on another server having restored the latest backups from the production
server.
Does this work or do you get trouble with any IDs or databases?
