Hi All,
I have a query that needs answering quite urgently so that it can be
included in a report that i am writing.
We are just about nearing the First User Live date on the new network
infrastructure. The existing domain consists of Domain Controllers, File and
Print, Exchange, etc, etc. We also have a completly new Domain which consists
of Server 2003 and all associated software.
When users get their new login ID they will also have their data which would
have been migrated and stored on their new network share. They also have a
reachback to the old Domain via trusts. Users will transfer to the new domain
in sets. This is where the problem lies. Users often share office documents
which consist of plain text, plain text and OLE objects etc. The current
office versions are 97 and 2000, the new version is 2003 and 2007. When users
on the new domain need to access a file through reachback they would be asked
if they would like to open the document in 2003 or 2007, when finished with
the document would users on the old domain be able to access the documents
again?
Can anyone offer any advise please. Or is there any Microsoft literature
available for me to digest?
Any advise-information would be greatly appreciated.
