we are importing a pivot table from column c & d How an we configure colun c minus column d

Pivot tables have column headings (fields). If you go to the pivot table
toolbar, select Formulas>Calculated Field... and fill out your formula here
it will make a new field alongside the other two columns that can be
manipulated as any other field

As we don't understand please explain:
We have a column Of gain & we have a column Of Expense the expense is not on the same row of the gain can be even 10 rows ahead now when e create the pivot table both columns are going to be sum of gain & sum of expense we couldn't find were to put calculated field for subtracting one from the other to have a subtotal from gain
