banding in W 2007 tables

How do you add banding in W 2007 tables? Where do you specify the colors
desired? I am looking to have color applied to every other row, except the
heading rows. Is this possible? I could not find any how-to instructions in
online help.

I would appreciate any help on this.

After you insert a table, the Table Tools tab appears on the ribbon, with
sub-tabs labeled Design and Layout. On the Design tab, all the way at the
left is a group of options. Check the one that says Banded Rows. Then look
at the gallery of Table Styles in the middle of the ribbon. (By clicking the
arrows at the right side of the gallery you can scroll through it, or click
the More button to see the full gallery.) As you hover the mouse over a
style, the table will display a preview; when you see the one you like best,
click it to apply that style.

After applying a style, you can further tweak the settings, such as
background color and border line weight and color.

Jay:

Thanks so much. I didn't "get" that I needed to choose banding at the Table
Style Options group on the design tab, and then have to move to the Style
Options group to select and activate it.

Gosh it would be nice if online help covered this topic. Glad you could help.

Just to clarify one point: You can choose the style and the banding in
either order, and still get the same result. I just think it's nicer to turn
