Which version of Windows are you running, as Windows XP / IE6 users no longer have by default the
ability to run Java based applets.

Do you have IE6 installed on Windows ME. if so then you no longer have the Java Virtual Machine
(JVM).

-- I have checked the installation history for the
windows melenium computer. It shows installation update
816093 regarding M virtual machine. I don't know if that
is IE6 or not. If it is IE6, how much of my front page is
not going to work properly. Do you think I can unistall
the update and can I do that. Or should I try to reinstall
the Java virtual Machine again. thanks Jerry

Jerry,

Even if you get it working, there are many users that will not be able to see any Java Applets, so
have them on your site would be useless to these users. When you test your page locally make sure
that you are using File Menu | Preview in Browser, not the Preview tab.

FP only contains two Java Applets, which both can be replaced with JavaScript functions.

Jerry:

Every person in the world must have the JVM installed to view any Java
applications that appear on your web. There is nothing you can do to
install in FP or the server to make this happen. It's an individual thing.

I checked the windows update history and found an
installation 816093 regarding M virtual Machine. I do not
know if that is IE6 or not. But if it is, how much of my
frontpage is not going to work right. Should I download
JVM again or should I try to find a way to uninstall the
update. I don't know if I can do that though. thanks Jerry

Thank you for your response.MY java applets are working on
my hoover buttons. My web site I published is
users.adelpphia.net/~windfall242 . button "target 6" is
the one that does not work. The banner ad manager just
displays a grey area. Because my hoover buttons are
working ok, does this mean that I have Java machine?
thanks jerry

Yes, it means you have a JVM installed.

Check the path to the .class files which should be in the root of your web, in HTML / Code view.
