Banner Ad Manager

Hi All,

Using Front Page 2002. Have set up a banner ad with 4 graphics. Works
great when I preview in my brower. But when I publish it to the website, I
get the box with an x in the upper left corner.

Can anyone tell help?

Thanks,
Connie

Hi Connie....are you publishing all the files pertaining to the banner?
Images as well?

Do you have a Java Virtual Machine installed and running? Banner Ad
Manager requires JVM to be seen, and many (perhaps most) users do not
have a JVM installed, or have it disabled for security reasons.
Search for a JavaScript version.
If this is a JavaScript version, please give a link to the published
page.

Thanks Ronx,
Yes I installed JVM, but will check to see if it's diabled. I don't seem to
have any trouble viewing other pages on the web that use JVM. Will pursue
this course anyway.

What about users that don't have JVM running or installed?

That is a definite problem. Depending on what the client wants, I will
likely recommend they abandon the banner ad...seems a shame though.

You don't have to abandon the function, just don't do it using FrontPage.
There are a lot of Ad Banner scripts out there using JavaScript, ASP etc
that don't require the JVM. Do a search for Ad Banner Scripts or check out
