Banner question...

Dennis Kowallek

I just bought a copy of FP 2002 and am playing around with the Themes. If I
add my own banner graphic and then apply the theme to a sample web page, the
banner appears but has some text written over it (like "index.htm"). What am I
doing wrong? How can I get rid of this text?

P.S. If you can direct me to an online tutorial, that would be great!

Don't use the Nav. Banner component.

Don't use the Nav. Banner component.

I'm confused.

I would like to every page on my site to share a common style (logo, menubar,
etc.). I thought a custom Theme was what I should try. Should I just be using
Shared Borders with a plain graphic instead of a "banner"?

If I shouldn't be using the Nav. Banner component, what *is* it used for?

Thanks!

Use the FP Include Page component, as you have more control over place then using Shared Borders.

The Nav. Banner Image w/Text is generated based on your page titles from your pages in Navigation
View. It is a quick and simply way to have your page title appear in a banner image on all of your
pages using the Nav. Banner component.

If you don't want FP to insert the Page Title on the banner image, then you can't use the FP Nav.
Banner component.

Themes and Page banners use the Nav view to add the page name (from nav view) to the theme banner image
- if you want all page to be the same don't use Page banners
- just insert your own image at the top of the page or shared border
