bar that shows the progress of sending large emails

When I send an email with a large attachment, there used to be a status bar
or progress bar or some kind of bar that showed what percentage of the large
attachment had been sent. For some reason, it is no longer displayed when I
send large attachments and, when I drop the line, the attachment is not sent.

What setting do I change to display the progress bar?

Do you see the send/receive in your task bar? If you do, right click on it
and see if you can bring it up.
