baseline task loses project's BCWS

I added a task to the workplan and baselined that task.
When I do that, all of the other earned values go to
zero. Why and how can I prevent that from happening
(outside of not adding new tasks)?

Hello Tammy,
Where is your Status date ? ( Project / Project information...)
If you move backward your Status date to the very beginning of your project, the BCWS, which is
calculed in connection with the status date, will go back to zero.
