Baseline Work Issues

Hello,

I have a question regarding Baseline Work column. I have always been
having issues with the Baseline Work in a workplan not matching the
total Baseline Work generated from the Cube.

Through other posts I've been able to resolve the issue of fixing the
Baseline Work through a series of steps to fix the Baseline Work in
the task assignment view. I have been able to determine that the
problem is due to several factors:
1. Deleting Tasks with Baseline Work
2. Cutting and Pasting tasks with Baseline Work (this in effect
deletes Tasks)
3. and most distressingly Changing Resources assignments (replacing a
resource in a task with another)

The last point is the most disturbing for me as changing resources as
old resources roll off and new ones replace them occurs quite
frequently in our project.

This problem I've tested and has occured when I myself replaced a
resource on 5 future fortnightly tasks 50days total (who was rolling
off) with another resource.

This was the ONLY change that occured on the plan. The Cube had been
run just prior to me changing the plan and the Baseline Work read 1000
mandays. Afterwards when I re-ran the Cube the Baseline Work read
only 950days.

I have instructed all the plan owners of the issues of doing either 1
or 2. But there is no way for me to stop them from doing point 3. As
this is just not feasible.

As such the Baseline Work for all the workplans are now incorrect as
one point or another the Workplan had resources removed or replaced.

I will be forever fixing every plan to fix the Baseline Work.

Has anyone else come across this problem? Is there anyway to prevent
this? Or a patch or fix that resolves this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
