Basic contact issue in outlook 2003

A

Andrew Altman

I want to configure Outlook to that I can assign any name to an email address
OTHER than the suggestion of the program. For example, I'd like to change
(e-mail address removed) to simply "Dad". The AOL
and Gmail interfaces do this quickly and easily. I cannot seem to make
Outlook do it. Help?

No special configuration is required. Simply create a new contact in your
contacts folder, give it the name "Dad," and type in the email address for
that contact. When you create a new message, you'll be able to type "Dad"
into the To box, and Outlook will automatically match up that text with the
contact and add the email address.
