Basic ON2007 information

Kenn Evanko

I am trying to find information on the installation of OneNote 2007
and can't seem to find what I am looking for.

Does ON 2007 require it to be on its own server?

Does it require Sharepoint Server or Sharepoint services to run in
basic mode?

What advanced features\functionality require it to have either
Sharepoint Server or Services?

From what I read it is better that Outlook 2007 is installed on the
client PC's for ON2007 to work in harmony. Is this true?

Any help would be appreciated.

I would start here with some reading:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/onenote/default.aspx?ofcresset=1

ON is a client-side product which does not require a server product to
work. Some of the features (like shared Notebooks) work better when used
against a file server of some kind (Windows file server or SharePoint)
but it's not a requirement. If you don't plan on sharing notes or a
Notebook with other people, then no server productis required.

Outlook integration requires Outlook 2003 or later.

Erik Sojka (MVP) shared these words of wisdom:
Outlook integration requires Outlook 2003 or later.

Better say "Outlook 2007".
ON 2007 does not co-operate too well with OL 2003.
