I would like to use the Applescript provided by Microsoft at the link below
to edit a large database of contacts and then add them back into Entourage.
The script imports all the contacts and has a handy button to update any
edited entourage contacts EXCEPT that it will edit the phone numbers when it
first imports them.

If I have a phone number in a contact as 0201234567 it will be imported to
excel as 201234567 (and also imported back to Entourage this way)
(However, if any numbers have a space within them then the Œ0¹ at the front
is preserved.)
Any numbers with an international dialing code on them will lose the Œ+¹
sign.
At a guess I would say Excel is reading the numbers as sums and removing
what it sees as unnecessary digits. I don¹t want to edit 3000 phone numbers,
so is there any way to use this script but make the import process treat all
cells as Œtext¹ thus preserving inputted data exactly as it is written? It
seems like such an obvious bug but I couldn¹t see anywhere else other than
this forum to report it.
Thanks in advance
