Batch Excel file

Hi!

We are setting up Project Server 2003 with Enterprise features in a large
organization. Some of the departments have documented project related
information in excel-files and my question is if somebody have done a
batchlike upload/definition of multiple projects to Project Server 2003? (The
file looks like "one project per row in a worksheet")

Regards

I would recommend that you import each Excel file into Microsoft Project
using the Import Wizard. Click File - Open and then select Microsoft Excel
Workbooks (*.xls) as the Files of Type value. You will need to match Task,
Resource, and perhaps Assignment information from the workbook with relevant
fields in the Microsoft Project file. After importing the project
information, you will probably have a lot of cleanup to do before the file
is ready to save. When you save the project, be sure to save it as an .mpp
file and DO NOT save it in the Project Server database! After you have done
this, then import the .mpp file into the Project Server database using the
Import Projects wizard (Tools - Enterprise Options - Import Project to
Enterprise) to make sure that the project conforms to your organization's
enterprise standards for Project, Resource, and Task custom information.
Hope this helps.
