Batching an svg to gif conversion

Is it possible to batch a conversion from an svg file to a gif file?

I have 3800 svg files that need to be converted to gif.

I have not had any luck finding a tpa that does this correctly. visio does
it perfectly.

Have you tried GIMP?

Gimp did not work on most of my svg files.

Visio has worked perfectly everytime.

er, so you are using Visio to convert from SVG to GIF?
Boggle.
Well, you (or somebody), actually the correct personal pronoun here is
"one" - one could write a script to create a blank page, add one of
the SVG files then save it as GIF, I don't think the output file
naming can be automated though.
I have a utility that can do part of the saving for you (below).

If it doesn't have to be Visio, you can use the Apache Batik toolkit for
rendering SVG to bitmaps. Example at
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/batik/using/transcoder.html
