BCC in Mail Merge

S

Srikanth Harkara

MS word provide a method to mail merge a document to a
mail. But I found that I can send only one person at a
time. I want to BCC the mail merged copy to my higher
officials.

Please give me some idea to BCC a document from Mail Merge
Wizard in Word document.

There's no way to do this using Word's mail merge facilities.

You either have to use Word VBA to generate each document, then create a
mail envelope, and fill in the BCC from VBA, or you have to
a. prevent Outlook (or whatever email package you are using) from sending
any mails
b. do the merge. The mails should be in the Outbox (in OE or Outlook)
c. Fill in the BCC manually, or in the case of Outlook, you might be able
to open each e-mail using Outlook VBA and fill in the BCC.

I can't guarantee either of those methods will work.

Rather than go to all that trouble, I suppose I would also consider waiting
until all the mails had been sent, then open my Sent Items box, select them
all, and forward all the mails, either individually, in small batches, or
altogether in a single e-mail, as long as the number of mails makes that a
viable approach.
