Hi,
I have just had a very frustrating day.
So far I have learned that BCM 2003 uses TCP port 56183 and that BCM 2007
uses TCP port 5356.
I have also discovered that BCM 2007 is hard coded to use port 5356.
Whenever I attempt to connect BCM 2007 to a 2003 shared database it reports
that it cannot connect. However, I can connect without problems using the
osql command and I can query the data successfully.
If I force BCM 2007 client to use port 56183 it connects but then it cannot
see the database. ie, it will not allow me to pick the 2003 database from
the drop down list.
All other 2003 clients connect and work seamlessly, but we have just
acquired 2 x XP PCs with office 2007 & BCM 2007.
I guess I already know the answer, but does anyone else have this problem?
Maybe someone might have a solution?
Thank you,
Storkeye
