BCM 2007 Mail Merge - filters

I created a filter in BCM which included a "user defined field". When I go
to Word and try to mail merge a document I don't get to choose pre-defined
filters and word doesn't offer "user defined fields" as a filter choice.

When I mail merge from BCM it doesn't let me preview and edit each piece.

Any suggestions? Am I missing something here?

Any help would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!
