BCM 2007 - SQL Server 2005 SP2 - Messages during install

I don't have Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager B2TR installed
because every time I try to do so two messages pop up on my screen during the
installation telling me that I need to install SQL Server 2005 SP2 or later
before running BCM. Well, I've looked and there is nothing later than SP1 on
the Microsoft website.

Can someone please help me with this?

Thanks!

Is this on Vista? If so you can ignore that message.

Here's my summary interpretation of the various readme files and
knowledge base articles.

SQL Server is not fully aligned with the new Vista security
requirements, and by default things are done incorrectly; e.g. a simple
"CREATE DATABASE foobar" puts the database file in what should be a
read only directory. SP2 will correct those defaults. However, BCM has
always overridden the defaults and followed security guidelines.

If you intend to use SQL directly, beyond just providing data services
to BCM, you should read the security recommendations.

Luthor,

Thanks much for the input. I will do as you suggest.

Can you please specify some of the readme and knowledge base articles so I
can look at them myself.

Thanks!

Luthor,

Here are some additional questions for you:

- I've got SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition - If I install this on Vista
RC1 will Outlook with BCM still try to install SQL Server 2005 Express?

- Based on the info you've found, should I then upgrade to SP1 or simply
wait for SP2?

Thanks for your help.

SQL has its own location on the disk, and BCM comes with and calls
SQL's own setup program, so it will only install any files/versions
that aren't already installed.

As a rule, unless you hear otherwise, it's always a good thing to have
the latest bits. SP1 is better than the original release. I believe BCM
Beta2TR comes with SP1 of SQL.

Sorry I con't have the time to retrace my steps and find which document
explains which bit.
