BCM/Accounting Integration question

I use BCM and Accounting (trying the 2007 trial right now) for an
audio recording facility I work at. I use the Outlook Calendar to
schedule actors who come in to do voice work for us, making them
Vendors. However, it seems that in the Outlook BCM/ Accounting 2007
integration, if you open a calendar appointment, you can only add the
appointee as a Customer and not a Vendor.

Am I missing something, or does this only work one-way? I would love
to be able to open the Actors appointment and add it to my Vendor
listing for them straight from the calendar. Is this possible?

Thanks

BCM does not have a vendor type. It is really a "Customer Manager"
rather than a complete "Business Contact Manager".

Well that's a shame. I'm no programmer, but it doesn't seem like it
would be too difficult to make that happen.

I applaud Luther for posting a very astute distinction about BCM. It really
is designed as a specific functioning "Customer Manager" vs. being a more
versatile and complete "Business Contact Manager." The BCM title can be
misleading. I have lamented this myself for many years but it just helps to
accept what BCM is and is not in terms of deciding whether to adopt its use.
I would like to see this add-in become more versatile and complete and
perhaps it will someday.
